VERA TSAI litigates complex liability and insurance coverage matters, including commercial automobile and ride-sharing litigation, products liability, construction defect, premises liability, and Labor Law matters. She advises clients on insurance regulations, liability coverage issues and legal issues involving autonomous vehicles. Ms. Tsai advocates on behalf of individuals and business entities in negligence and breach of contract lawsuits from inception through trial. Prior to joining gartner + bloom PC, Ms. Tsai practiced insurance law at Hannum Feretic Prendergast & Merlino, handling liability and coverage matters.

Ms. Tsai received her Juris Doctorate from Seton Hall University School of Law and her Bachelor’s Degree from Wesleyan University on a full merit-based scholarship. While in law school, Ms. Tsai clerked at McElroy Deutsch Mulvaney and Carpenter LLP handling a wide range of civil litigation matters and interned with New Jersey Family Court Judge Richard C. Camp in Essex County, New Jersey.

Ms. Tsai is admitted to the State Bars of New York and New Jersey, and Eastern and Southern Districts of New York Federal Courts. She is a native speaker of Mandarin Chinese and serves on the Board of Directors of the Chinese American Insurance Association. Ms. Tsai’s publications include “New York Litigation Landscape in the Autonomous Vehicle Era“, one of the very first to explore the legal impact of new self-driving car technology.
