Michael J. Mahon is the former managing attorney and principal trial attorney for Nationwide Insurance Company in the Bronx/Hudson Valley area. Since 2008 he has been in the private practice of law, with offices in Nyack and Warwick, New York. He is a 1980 graduate of St. John’s University School of Law.
Michael has tried jury and non-jury cases all over New York State, from Erie to Suffolk Counties, including in New York City, and many other counties in between. He was admitted to practice in New York State in 1981 and currently maintains active admissions in the New York State Courts and the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York.
He has long experience in handling the defense of personal injury cases of all types, from commercial automobile and premises cases, arbitration, and New York State Labor Law actions. As part of his private practice, he has litigated international contract cases including conducting discovery in Europe, while acquiring expertise in Hague Convention service in numerous countries. He has defended cyber theft cases on several occasions as well.
His private practice includes residential and commercial real estate, along with general litigation of all types.
He is a member of the Board of Trustees of Montefiore Nyack Hospital, serving on the Governance, Marketing, and Audit/Compliance committees.
