Alexander Fisher

ALEXANDER D. FISHER graduated from Brandeis University in 1999 with a B.A. in History and Politics, and received his Law Degree in 2003 from the Syracuse University College of Law. Alex is admitted to practice in New York and New Jersey.

Alex handles cases in both New York and New Jersey, including New York Labor Law, construction defect, property damage, and general liability matters. He has also handled cases involving claims of defamation, tortious interference with a contract, and shareholder disputes in closely held companies. Alex handles cases from inception up to and including trial. He has made numerous successful summary judgment motions, including in a large construction defect case, in which a New Jersey Court dismissed approximately 98% of Plaintiff’s claimed damages against our client, a concrete company. Prior to joining gartner + bloom PC, Alex worked for a large New York City firm defending premises liability, Labor Law, wrongful death, property damage, and construction defect cases. In that capacity he also defended the New York City Housing Authority in a number of actions. He served as lead defense counsel on a large multi-million dollar property damage case. He was also successful in winning and opposing numerous summary judgment motions involving issues such as the “storm in progress” doctrine, contractual indemnification, spoliation, and res ipsa loquitur. Additionally, Alex has filed and argued successful appeals before the Appellate Division.
