Joe Kavesh is a Partner in the firm’s Whippany, New Jersey and New York City offices. He concentrates his practice in the areas of trucking and transportation, construction defect, premises liability, and toxic torts.
Prior to joining gartner + bloom PC, Joe was a Partner at an AM Law 100 firm where he represented homeowners and policyholders in general liability and commercial matters. Over the course of his career, Joe has represented the world’s largest home improvement retailer in federal and state court proceedings, as well as the world’s largest ride-sharing company. He is frequently sought out as a “go to” counsel for national and international insurers in high exposure trials.
Joe was admitted to the bar in New Jersey and New York in 1998; the District of Columbia in 1999; the U.S. District Court, District of New Jersey in 1999; the U.S. District Court, Southern and Eastern District of New York in 1999; and the U.S. District Court, Western and Northern District of New York in 2012. Joe is a graduate of Brown University (B.A., 1990). He obtained his J.D. from Seton Hall University in 1996.
Joe has lectured before the Defense Association of New York (“Conflicts of Interest/Frequent Issues Faced by the Defense”) and the Claims and Litigation Management (CLM) Alliance (“How to Investigate a Slip, Trip or Fall Claim”).
Outside of the courtroom, Joe is an accomplished distance runner, having completed numerous half marathons in New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania. Joe is a crossword puzzle and Wordle buff, and an aficionado of classic rock music. He is grateful for the joys of raising 3 wonderful sons.
