Medea Matiashvili is a Partner at gartner + bloom PC’s New York office, where she focuses her practice on commercial insurance defense litigation.
Prior to her current role, Ms. Matiashvili practiced at several New York law firms, handling commercial insurance defense and coverage litigation matters. She also served as a secondee to a rideshare technology company, where she supported the litigation team in developing strategic approaches to litigation and pre-litigation disputes. Her extensive experience includes insurance defense litigation involving trucking and transportation, No-Fault/PIP cases, foreclosure litigation, and bankruptcy proceedings.
Ms. Matiashvili brings a global perspective to her practice through her background in international development and human rights. As a Senior Staff Attorney with the American Bar Association Rule of Law Initiative, she led criminal justice reform projects throughout Georgia and contributed to legislative initiatives such as the creation of a jury trial system.
She earned her J.D. from Tbilisi State University and an LL.M. from Benjamin Cardozo School of Law, Yeshiva University.
