NICOLA DUFFY was educated in Ireland and relocated to New York in 2010. She began her legal career at a small law firm in Manhattan, where she was involved in all aspects of litigation from inception through trial. She honed her skills in all areas of civil litigation but primarily focused on construction accident, products liability, premises liability, motor vehicle accident and general negligence before joining Pillinger Miller Tarallo. Having spent her former years working through school in various roles with construction companies, she enjoys being involved in this area of law.
Before moving to New York, Nicola set out to work in human rights and pursued a master’s degree in Transitional Justice in a Post-Conflict Society at the University of Ulster in Derry, Ireland, near where she grew up. She continues to advance her knowledge in this area by taking online courses and has completed a certificate in International Human Rights Law. When she can, she gets involved in events or projects aimed at raising awareness of human rights violations and has participated in a UNICEF project aimed at raising awareness of human trafficking.
Outside of work, Nicola likes to push her limits and enjoys surfing and competing in decathlons.
